Who are we?

The most important tasks of the North Denmark EU-office are to establish contacts and generate funding arrangements for North Danish companies and public institutions – within the framework of the EU.

The objective of the North Denmark EU-office is to contribute to economic growth and positive business development in the northern part of Denmark by means of creating permanent jobs and developing companies. The North Denmark EU-office seeks to achieve this by involving North Danish companies and public institutions in EU co-financed development projects and by making information, our knowledge and competence available for companies, institutions and citizens in the region.

Through these activities, the North Denmark EU-office seeks to promote the region of North Denmark and make it known as a significant actor on the European and international scene.

The North Denmark EU-office has a department in both Aalborg and Brussels, which entails close relations between the North Danish region, the EU institutions and other European regions. In the spring of 2007 the North Denmark EU-office opened its first branch in China in Beijing.

The North Denmark EU-office offers experienced and professional consultancy throughout the process from project idea to actual implementation. Our service will be designed according to the specific needs of the client. Some of the services are free of charge while others are subjected to our payments arrangement.

As regards the organisational structure, the North Denmark EU-office is attached to the Mayor’s Department of Aalborg Municipality which has the administrative and overall managerial responsibility. As of 1 January 2002, the work of the North Denmark EU-office became profit based, which means that the office has to live up to certain criteria for revenues and activities.
