OBLASTOvercoming Barriers in Local and Strategic Trade
Description The core of the OBLAST project is the establishment of long-term trade relations between two border regions in Poland and Ukraine as well as to create cooperation between companies from Denmark, Poland and Ukraine. Economic and business development consultants from Poland and Ukraine are being trained in the development of cross-border trade. The overall purpose of the project is to overcome the cultural barriers on both sides of the Polish-Ukrainian border (the Podkarpackie Province in Poland and the Lviv region in Ukraine). The project ends with an international tradefair in Rzeszow, Poland. The project was implemented in the period 2001-2002.

Finances The project is co-financed by the EU TACIS programme through the TACIS CBC Small Project Facility. The European Union's TACIS programme providew grant finance for know-how to foster the development of market economies and democratic societies in the New Independent States and in Mongolia. The TACIS programme have co-financed the project with app. 121,000 Euro. Budget 152,000 Euro.
