Description The objective of the project is to coordinate the best knowledge and research within eParticipation in Europe, with the aim of obtaining a critical mass for a virtual "Centre of Excellence" to secure Europe’s progress within eParticipation/eGovernment.
Duration 48 months (2006 - 2009)
Objective - To coordinate and integrate the research activities of the members around seven technology and research objectives. - To create a better interplay between authorities and researchers by establishing a close and enduring cooperation. - To evaluate and compare existing research material regarding eParticipation from European regions, cities and countries. - To create better conditions for women within the research area of eParticipation. - To allocate the necessary technological capacity to ease discussion, cooperation and the exchange of data. - To initiate new relationships both among the many stakeholders involved in the eParticipation research and among those who depend on the results of the research. - To secure the diffusion of the research results to the largest possible public to improve the conditions of researchers, the authorities and the citizens.

Finances The total budget for the 4-year period is 6,000,000 euro and is funded by the EU’s 6th frame of programme for the F&U - IST Programme .
