CLOBE III

Description

The purpose of this project is to contribute to the on going change in China, where economic growth to an ever higher degree must be followed by greater environmental concern. Especially The Municipality of Pudong in the Shanghai region is working to transform its traditional economy into a recycling economy.

The objective of the project is to assist The Municipality of Pudong in introducing a system based on recycling economy. This is done by contributing with European experience and methods to composition of an all-embracing strategic master plan, for an optimal utilization of resources fitted for the Chinese model.

Another objective is to assist with the European know how for the following implementation of the short-range recommendations of the master plan with regard to 2 demonstration projects (waste, water, waste water, sustainable production, consumption, cleaner production et cetera for 2,700,000 inhabitants and a specially selected industrial area).
