Pilot Project on Management of Clinical Waste

Project description

The purpose of the project is to improve the environmental, sanitary and epidemiological situation in Kaliningrad. The overall activities in the project are:

• Establishment of a pilotcentre for the handling of clinical, hazardous waste from medical and veterinary institutions
• Pilot training of relevant staff
• Technical assistance to the development of a new system for handling clinical, hazardous waste based on Danish know-how and experiences

Implementation of the project: 2004 - 2005

Partners

Kaliningrad City Hall and Aalborg Municipality. NIRAS are the technical experts in the project.

Finances

Budget: 249,208 Euro, support from the EU TACIS CBC Small Project Facility Programme: 199,208 Euro.
