Brokerage Event 2

BE2 is an ICT Conference on Research and Development which were held in Aalborg on November 22nd and 23rd 2007.

The main objective of BE2 was to develop and support the communication between ICT companies in order to encourage the catalysing of new EU RTD projects by drawing on existing regional networks. The aim was to initiate new transnational partnerships to further ICT SME participation in European research programmes.

More than 250 representatives from ICT companies and SMEs from 12 countries participated in the dynamic conference. This gave the representatives the opportunity to maintain and establish contacts, share and develop ideas and knowledge.

The two days in Aalborg featured interactive parallel networking, information sessions and trainings, match making and the possibility of pitching ideas.

The BE2 conference is part of the EU-project EASIER which seeks to increase the ICT research activity and strengthen the competitiveness of ICT SMEs. The thrust of the project is to deliver new RTD collaborations for FP7 and other European-wide opportunities with special emphasis on SMEs. Working in sixteen European regions, EASIER will catalyse EU RTD projects by drawing on the strengths of existing regional networks and building a new trans-national partnership to boost ICT SME participation in European research programmes.
